STK: Steak, Sugared Donuts And More Modern American Delights Perfect For Mother’s Day And Beyond!

I was lucky enough to try the price fixe lunch menu at STK and was blown away! Above you can see the Amazon prime cheese beef sliders known as the LIL’ BRGRs that I had as a starter and which you can purchase on their own for only $6. That makes them NYC’s cheapest luxury burgers and they really can almost be a lunch on their own!

My guest had this immense portion of Crispy Calamari with shisito peppers offered on the lunch and dinner menus and was blown away. It was the classic Southern Italian style recipe but the large baked clove of garlic was a delicious addition.

The six ounce Filet Mignon with house made steak sauce is a must have and surprisingly in the Top Five favorite entrees for lunch or dinner at STK. It was done perfectly medium rare just the way I like it. I teamed it up with the amazing Truffle Fries, another legend of this highly respected steakhouse mini-chain.

Speaking of Truffle Fries, here they are in their golden glory, topped with Parmigiana Reggiano and freshly ground herbs. I guarantee that you will be taking some of these home in a doggy bag because they are more satisfying than regular fries because of the luxurious truffle oil used.

You can ask for a dessert sampling tray at STK locations and get a beautiful assortment like this. This one is a little special because I said that I needed cheesecake and donuts X 2. In my photo, you can see the classic and chocolate cheesecake slices, hot apple pie with cinnamon crumble a la mode (that is really a French style soft apple pastry) and world famous sugar donuts in mini metal fryer baskets (officially known as Bag o’ Donuts)! Even a sugar freak such as myself and my guest could not devour this in one sitting. The meat at STK is amazing and there are tremendous lunch and dinner specials throughout May including a $69 PP dinner special that includes a glass of Prosecco, app, side, entree and dessert! You get the famous six ounce filet mignon as one of the entree choices! This price fixe would be a BANGIN’ choice for Mother’s Day!

The midtown location (located on 43rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues) is stunning and reminds me of a cross between JFK’s former TWA Terminal and the legendary Oyster Bar in Grand Central. There are all sorts of other great price fixes in May including one for the Kentucky Derby–you will be able to watch the derby on the big screens while you dine and try the Bourbon Cake being created just for this event! All year long the most popular fixed price dining option is the $69 Steak Night special from Sunday through Thursday night; it is considered the city’s best date night deal for steak lovers.
