AperiBar: A Real Gastronomic Gem In Midtown!

The new lunch menu at AperiBar by the Charlie Palmer Collective just started on Tuesday, April 16 and will be offered Tuesdays through Thursdays from Noon to 2 p.m for an undisclosed amount of time. Diners can expect:

  • All new Lunch Prix Fixe offering antipasti, secondi and dolci, with choice of two courses for $29 or three courses for $35
  • Antipasti favorites like Ricotta Lioni (whipped ricotta, lemon zest, black pepper, roasted tomato), Polpettine di Carni (beef, pork, arrabbiata sauce) and Arancini (saffron, provolone, truffle fonduta)
  • Signature Paninos including Mortadella + Zucchini (grilled zucchini, stracciatella, pistachio pesto) and Focaccia a la Prosciutto (artichokes, grilled pepper, mozzarella, basil pesto)
  • Crowd-pleasing pastas and pizzas like Mafaldine a la Vongole (clams, white wine, prosciutto, pickled chile) and Funghi pizza (cremini, oyster, shiitake, onions, fontina, fresh mozzarella and parmigiana

I personally tried a few dishes over at AperiBar and they knocked me over like a bunch of hot chili peppers. On the top of this page you can see the three fabulous lunch finds under $25 that I devoured at AperiBar recently: Saliccia (pizza covered with fennel pork sausage, tomato, onion and fresh mozzarella), Spaghetti Al Limone (spaghetti with lemon, caulilini and parmigiana cheese) and Malfadine Alla Vongole (linguine with clams, white wine, prosciutto and pickled chilis).

I also fell madly in love with two salads that you can order individually or as part of the price fixe lunch deals!: the Tuscan Kale Salad, which features quinoa, artichokes, avocado and creamy Pecorino dressing and the Fregola Salad, which features baby spinach, broccoli, crumbled feta and lemon-tahini dressing. They are only $14 and $15 respectively a la carte and portions are extremely generous.

Don’t forget dessert if you go! They are truly special here. Being a huge fan of both coffee ice cream and gelato, I just had to try the Espresso Gelato pictured above! It comes with topped espresso cookie crumbles, espresso liquor and espresso beans and is a generous enough size portion for two to share! Exec Chef Charlie Palmer is a @beardfoundation award legend so you just can’t go wrong here. AperiBar is located at 120 West 41st Street just west of Bryant Park in the Luma Hotel (a luxury hotel with rooms under $300 per night), so it is very central to anywhere that you would want to visit in the Big Apple! Reservations are recommended but not necessary. The official website address is www.AperiBar.com.
