NYCWFF 2026: An Unforgettable Celebration of New York’s Culinary Scene

The 2026 Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF), presented by Invesco QQQ, took place October 15–18, marking the festival’s 19th year of celebrating the chefs, restaurants, food personalities and beverage professionals who make New York City one of the world’s great culinary destinations. Across four days, the festival presented nearly 50 events featuring more than 300 chefs, culinary creators, restaurateurs, winemakers, mixologists and entertainers. From large-scale tasting events and rooftop parties to intimate dinners and culinary demonstrations, the festival offered a broad look at contemporary food culture while giving guests opportunities to discover new restaurants, meet celebrated chefs and sample dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world.

The Seaport served as the festival’s central hub, with the Invesco QQQ Festival Campus hosting major events and The Rooftop at Pier 17 providing a spectacular new setting for signature celebrations. The waterfront location added sweeping views of the East River, Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline to the experience. The 2026 program also reflected changing dining and entertainment trends, with a greater emphasis on nonalcoholic experiences alongside the festival’s traditional wine, spirits and cocktail offerings. Headliners included Rachael Ray, Bert Kreischer, Bryan and Michael Voltaggio, Kwame Onwuachi, mgk, Method Man and Whoopi Goldberg. Beyond the food and festivities, net proceeds supported the Event Zero Foundation, which advances sustainability in the events industry, and the James Beard Foundation, which works to strengthen American food culture and the independent restaurant community. Here are the three events that I attended—I devoured samples at nearly every booth and do not have one ounce of guilt about it, LOL!

Blue Moon Burger Bash Presented By Pat LaFreida Meats

The Blue Moon Burger Bash presented by Pat LaFrieda Meats opened the festival’s signature rooftop series on Thursday, October 15, at The Rooftop at Pier 17. Hosted by Food Network personality Rachael Ray, with comedian Bert Kreischer joining as co-host, the event once again celebrated one of America’s most popular comfort foods through a lively competition among chefs. The combination of waterfront views, music, beer and an enthusiastic crowd made Burger Bash a festive kickoff to the long weekend. After 18 years as one of NYCWFF’s best-known culinary competitions, the event continued its tradition of bringing together burger lovers, restaurant professionals and celebrity guests for an evening centered on creativity, flavor and friendly rivalry.

At the heart of Burger Bash was the competition to create the most memorable burger. Participating chefs used Pat LaFrieda’s custom burger blend as their starting point, then added their own combinations of toppings, seasonings, sauces and accompaniments. Some interpretations favored the familiar pleasures of a perfectly cooked classic, while others showcased more elaborate, chef-driven creations. Guests could move from station to station, sampling the competing burgers and deciding which one deserved their vote for the People’s Choice award. A panel of celebrity judges also helped determine the Judge’s Choice winner, with additional recognition available through the Mike’s Amazing Best Bite award. This format allowed both professional judges and festivalgoers to participate in the excitement.

The 2026 judging panel included television personality Ana Navarro, comedian Cedric the Entertainer, chef Jet Tila, culinary creator Andrew Rea of Binging with Babish, television personality Sophie Flay and actor and comedian Anthony Anderson. Participating culinary talent included chefs associated with establishments such as Gotham Burger Social Club, 7th Street Burger, Mister Dips, Arthur & Sons NY Italian and Morimoto NY. With so many different interpretations of the burger represented, the event offered a snapshot of the creativity and competitive spirit of New York’s restaurant scene. The rooftop location, the crowd’s participation and the combination of food and entertainment helped make Blue Moon Burger Bash one of the festival’s defining experiences.

Steak & Whiskey Hosted By Bryan and Michael Voltaggio

Steak & Whiskey returned on Friday, October 16, bringing together premium steak, whiskey and live entertainment for another signature evening of NYCWFF. Hosted by celebrity chef brothers Bryan and Michael Voltaggio, the event took place at The Rooftop at Pier 17 as part of the Norwegian Cruise Line Rooftop Series. With the Manhattan skyline and East River providing the backdrop, the celebration combined the sophistication of a steakhouse-inspired tasting with the energy of a rooftop party. It was designed for guests who appreciate expertly prepared meat, distinctive spirits and the opportunity to sample creations from some of New York’s leading culinary talents.

The food was the main attraction, with participating chefs showcasing their own interpretations of steak through a walk-around tasting format. Guests could explore a variety of preparations, from traditional grilled steak to more contemporary dishes featuring bold seasonings, sauces and inventive accompaniments. Participating talent included chefs connected with restaurants such as Bourbon Steak New York, Mastro’s Steakhouse, Beefbar, GUI Steakhouse and Prime Rib, and Palladino’s Steak & Seafood. The diversity of the participating restaurants offered guests a chance to appreciate how different chefs approach a familiar ingredient, using technique, seasoning and presentation to create distinctive dishes.

Whiskey and cocktails complemented the savory food, with premium pours and handcrafted drinks helping establish the event’s distinctive identity. Whiskey’s complex flavors, including oak, caramel, vanilla, spice and smoke, make it a natural companion for the richness of steak, and the pairing gave the evening a classic American steakhouse sensibility. Celebrity appearances added further excitement, with Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley and Kelly Bensimon of The Golden Life among the personalities featured at the event. With the Voltaggio brothers at the helm, Steak & Whiskey combined culinary craftsmanship, spirits and entertainment in a lively setting that made Friday night a highlight of the 2026 festival.

The Two Day New York Lottery’s Grand Tasting Featuring Culinary Demonstrations Presented By Bosch Home Appliances

The Grand Tasting, one of NYCWFF’s most recognizable signature events, returned to the Invesco QQQ Festival Campus in the Seaport on Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18. Presented as the New York Lottery’s Grand Tasting featuring Culinary Demonstrations by Bosch Home Appliances, it offered guests an expansive introduction to the festival’s culinary world. Unlike a traditional sit-down meal, the walk-around format allowed attendees to explore different tasting stations, sample food and beverages, and discover participating restaurants and brands at their own pace. The event brought together the excitement of a food festival with the opportunity to experience a wide variety of dishes in one waterfront location.

Saturday’s Grand Tasting was hosted by chef Marcus Samuelsson and culinary creator Andrew Rea, widely known as Binging with Babish. Sunday’s edition featured chef Ayesha Nurdjaja and Food Network personality Michael Symon. Their participation reflected the event’s blend of established culinary expertise and contemporary food entertainment. Culinary demonstrations provided an additional attraction, allowing guests to watch chefs work, learn about ingredients and techniques, and gain insights into the creative thinking behind particular dishes. The demonstrations also brought a more educational element to the experience, making the Grand Tasting appealing to home cooks and serious food enthusiasts as well as visitors primarily interested in sampling restaurant specialties.

The Grand Tasting’s greatest appeal was its variety. Visitors could move among restaurant offerings, sample different flavors and styles of cooking, explore beverages and interact with culinary representatives, all while enjoying the bustling atmosphere of the Seaport. The combination of food stations, demonstrations and the opportunity to discover new culinary names made it one of the festival’s broadest showcases of New York’s dining culture. Its two-day format also gave guests different opportunities to experience the event, with distinct hosts and demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday. As a centerpiece of NYCWFF 2026, the Grand Tasting brought together the festival’s essential ingredients: culinary discovery, celebrated personalities, hospitality and a shared enthusiasm for food.
