At the time of this writing, You have two more chances to check out the D&G Light Blue popup today in front of Macy’s front door. Hours are today (8/22) from 11 to 7 and tomorrow (8/23) from 11 to 6. (It’s important to know that you need to arrive by 6PM to get in line on Saturday and by 5 PM on Sunday.) Pictured above on the left is one of the two makeup areas where pros match you with your best colors. The lip colors are especially innovative and I noticed the makeup artists picking colors that the guest might not have picked for themselves (and it looked fabulous).
You will get a small mascara Everfull Hi-Definition Mascara just for visiting the makeup booths. Be sure to get a Lolliduit organic frozen lemon pop whose wrapper features the classic Dolce & Gabbana blue floral print and while you are there, do a post and show it to the person manning the booth—you will get one of the gorgeous enamel look pins that every guest drools upon seeing in the portable ice cream case housing the pops!
The two fragrance bars are totally bangin’—one is outdoors on the farther uptown side of the popup and one is inside the custom made trailer for the even. One of these should be your first stop at the popup as you will be getting three scents on cards including Light Blue! There is also a portrait artist sitting on the left side of the trailer doing the cutest full length watercolor renderings of guests that make everyone look like a model! It sounds strange but these unique portraits do not have any facial features, but trust me that they are super cool!
Just for the record, the lines tend to be 60-plus people long but move fast. I took this photo about 12:30 PM on Friday, August 21st (the first day of the event). The people from D&G were nice enough to place a couple dozen chairs along the velvet rope that you hit in the middle of your jury, so you get to sit down for a few minutes if you need to get off your feet for a little while! Cards are distributed that get you a special full size gift with purchase at the D&G fragrance and beauty area on Macy’s ground floor, by the way! I had a blast and you will, too!
