Tea Around Town: Summer 2025’s Best NYC Mini Staycation For Tea Time Lovers!

I was lucky enough to get a chance to see what’s going on with Tea Around Town this summer and was thrilled to see how many families are on board these days and the great mix of guests overall. Tea time is something people of all ages love—but especially those with sweet tooth’s! The luxe tea service is $104 plus fees and includes prosecco, a special app served separately from the triple decker tea tray and lobster rolls! Regular tickets start at $69.

It goes without saying that there are great photo ops both inside and outside of the restored British double decker buses used by Tea Around Town! Many people sport hats and gloves, and many dress in florals and pinks to match bus interiors!

I discovered the new cinnamon scones that were soft and moist and tasted like they had just been baked an hour or two before in the Tea Around Town kitchen! This is one of the best scones that I have ever tried! The clotted cream that came with it also tasted very fresh and I could not get enough. Notice that I bit off the corner before I took this photo since I was so anxious to try it!

You can see the amazing lobster rolls on the “savory dish,” which is put on the middle level of the classic three tier tea service trays. The trays are already at your table when you sit down. Luxe tea ticket holders get to sit upstairs for an extra great view of MYC landmarks as the bus travels. There are guides on the bus with Broadway backgrounds and they sing Broadway and general American classics between giving info on the sites.

Before you ask—yes, St. Patrick’s Cathedral is on the bus’ route. The bus hits a lot of places tourists would like to see including the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. Times Square is usually on the route but taken off it for street fairs and the days before and after New Year’s Eve for obvious reasons.

Guests are encouraged to be in a summer mood right now. As an influencer, I was asked to wear yellow and this TAT trip was the first time I have worn solid yellow since I was about 10! Like most New Yorkers, I wear black all the time, LOL! Wearing yellow actually put me in a good mood! By the way, you get to keep the cute TAT cup as a souvenir!

So if you are like me, you’re too reason for attending any tea are the mini desserts! Tea Around Town changes their sweet trays a few times per year. I will say that the cake pops and raspberry mousse are new and delightful! There is actually a layer of chocolate mousse under the raspberry mousse creating a real “wow factor.” The classic tea time sweet for me is the little round cheesecakes, though. The tour is 90 minutes and buses leave from the southern side of 42nd Street on 42nd between Fifth and Sixth Avenues! It might just be time to break out those white gloves that you found in grandma’s attic or that you used as a bridesmaid 20 years ago!
