Checking Out The Loews Regency Bar & Grill’s Fizz ‘ N Food!

I recently went to check out the non-alcoholic drink program called Fizz by Loews Hotels as featured at The Regency Bar & Grill, located in the iconic Loews Regency New York Hotel on Park Avenue and 61st Street. I also checked out some of the amazing lunch menu food including the Grill’s legendary strip steak and seared branzino—which everyone around me seemed to be ordering!

What Is Fizz by Loews?

Fizz by Loews Hotels is a nationwide beverage program launched in summer 2025, spotlighting house-crafted, soda-forward drinks. Curated by expert “Fizzologists,” the program emphasizes fresh, local ingredients and artisan syrups to deliver both non-alcoholic and low‑alcohol options. Each creation is spirit‑optional for a personalized sipping experience that balances wellness and flavor.

The Regency’s Role in the Fizz Experience

At the Loews Regency Bar & Grill, the Fizz menu complements their established Free Spirited low- and no‑alcohol selection, offering guests thoughtfully crafted beverages that are both inclusive and elegant.

Local seasonal offerings include creative mocktails and spritzes like the Grapefruit Fusion, Cucumber Fizz, Shirley’s Cousin, and St. Germain Spritz, each defined by unique flavor profiles and balanced sweetness. Just FYI, with Shirley’s Cousin, a unique twist on the legendary Shirley Temple with fruit juices added, you get two cherries! If you want more, the mixologists on hand will add more. This talented and friendly bar staff also creates custom drinks!

Pictured here is the Citrus Fizz which you will want to slip slowly and savor. Elevate your summer tea experience with this drink made with brewed chamomile and lemon tea, pure maple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and Sprite to taste. When the tea is cooled, the calming floral notes shine, without the bitterness and the maple syrup lends a gentle, earthy sweetness that balances the tartness from the lemon juice beautifully. Enjoy this drink anytime of the day at The Regency Bar & Grill to feel both calming and energizing, ready to take on the Big Apple.

Another Summer Of 2025 runaway hit is the Herbal Paloma which in my opinion is actually even better than the original boozy classic! This simple but elegant mocktail is made with homemade grapefruit syrup, lime juice and topped with soda. Elevating the no ABV beverage experience, the drink is topped with a grapefruit peel & thyme sprig. It’s for warm-weather sipping or when you want something sophisticated but easy-drinking.

Specialty Offering: Park Avenue Spritz

There are even more top cocktail and mocktail “greats” that the Regency Grill offers that I almost forgot to mention—the one that I would categorize as the Regency’s signature cocktail is the Park Avenue Spritz, available both with and without alcohol. This drink was actually invented at the famous Regency Grill bar and is as popular as all the classics like gin martinis and Cosmos!

The alcoholic version contains Maker’s Mark bourbon, lemon juice, ginger syrup and watermelon juice topped with prosecco; it’s garnished with ginger mint and watermelon. The nonalcoholic version contains lemon juice, ginger syrup, watermelon juice and ginger beer plus has the same garnish.

All of the Regency’s seasonal drinks reflect UES flavors and highlight sustainable, local ingredients.

Atmosphere & Culinary Context

The Regency Bar & Grill is a beloved Upper East Side gathering spot—frequented for its legendary power breakfasts and elegant ambiance. The bar area features a cozy lounge and illuminated bar front perfect for drinks, with a dining room further in for upscale evenings.

Complementing the drink menu, the restaurant offers elevated American fare using regional and sustainable ingredients, available throughout the day from breakfast to dinner.

Top Lunchtime Picks

My guest and I shared the Regency Bar & Grill’s aforementioned grilled branzino with citrus and fennel salad and agrodolce as it was large enough for two! This super fresh dish has incredible reviews on Yelp and we now know why. It’s hard to find anything that tastes this good and is also good for you!

The chicken breast with spaetzle and glazed carrots is another winner. How do they get their chicken breast so incredibly juicy at the Regency? Part of the secret is leaving the skin on and making an incredible “jus” for the breast to lie in. Of course, the chicken breast used is antibiotic free and free range.

The pizzas are enough for two people to share for lunch—these are true “sleeper hits” of the Upper East Side dining scene! My guest and I shared the plain aka Margherita pizza. This is a thin‑crust pizza topped simply with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, and basil chiffonade—a nod to classic Margherita—with optional add-ons like mushrooms or peppers for a small extra charge.

There are many stellar classics on the dessert menu and the couple sitting next to us told me that they come in every week for the tiramisu done in the Florentine style. The Regency Bar & Grill serves a warm apple tart made with New York Gala apples and a drizzle of caramel sauce, available on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This amazing dessert features a buttery tart shell with apple slices softened in warm caramel. The ice cream shows flakes of vanilla bean and it’s in the classic French style.

And let’s not forget the super popular New York Cheesecake served with raspberry cookie, whipped cream and a slice of white chocolate. This is seriously plush cheesecake. Two people can share this but I wouldn’t give my dining pal more than one bite, LOL!
