Serendipity 3 Times Square: Now You’ve Got A New Place To Indulge In World Class Ice Cream Treats & Comfort Food!

I was lucky enough to get invited to the VIP preview for the new Serendipity 3 at 157 West 47th Street and to say that I indulged would be an understatement. But I was as dazzled by the gorgeous Warhol inspired art and decor as I was by the food)

This is the stunning back room which features the counter where all the ice cream concoctions come out! As you can see, Warhol’s famous daisy silkscreens are the wallpaper print and the colorful tables and stools just make this legendary pattern stand out even more. Warhol’s portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth is used as the pattern for the wallpaper in the little alcove areas.

Andy himself greets you at the door–well, the Madame Tussaud’s version of him, anyway. The poker face look that Warhol always sported was captured perfectly in this statue. There is a wax figure of Marilyn Monroe in her famous red Gentlemen Prefer Blondes gown in the back room, and needless to say, a lot of Serendipity guests are using it for a super fun photo op!

There was plenty of Serendipity’s frozen hot chocolate on hand at the VIP preview. I ate three servings and I was so thrilled that all the party guests got to take home a can of the frozen hot chocolate mix, which you just mix with milk and ice. Guests also got a gift card for a regular frozen hot chocolate in either Serendipity location.

Everything is presented cleverly at Serendipity (but I probably did not have to tell you that)! Check out the newsprint French Fries container with a special slot for ketchup in my photo above. I also had their famous cheeseburgers and hot dogs with house-made relish for the first time!

I also got partake of the strawberry cheesecake “sundae” which I fell in love with immediately and will be ordering on my next visit. This dessert has both homemade cheesecake and vanilla ice cream topped with strawberry sauce and real whipped cream! This is a great dessert that is great to share as it is soul satisfying!

The party guests felt pretty darn special when the $1,000 Sundaes were passed out. They were smaller versions of the real thing but I was not complaining. I just ate extra portions, LOL. In care you don’t know, the $1000 Sundae is also known as the Golden Opulence Sundae and is made using three scoops of rich Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla and covered in 23k edible gold leaf. The chocolate syrup is made from melted Amedei Porcelana, one of the world’s most expensive chocolate brands and the entire sundae is covered with chunks of rare Chuao chocolate, which is from cocoa beans harvested by the Caribbean Sea on Venezuela’s coast. The sundae is then decorated with exotic candied fruits from Paris, gold covered almonds/dragets, chocolate truffles and marzipan cherries. You can get it with an optional side of caviar but I would pass on that! Trying one of these was on my bucket list, so I left last night’s party with a big smile on my face!

Like the other Serendipity location on East 60th Street, there are shelves of fun bric-a-brac, candy and official Serendipity merchandise to purchase. I love that the display cases are a bright pink! Everywhere you go in Serendipity puts a smile on patrons’ faces. It would be hard not to smile with all the fun art and food, not to mention the comfy seats and ultra friendly staff. For more info, go to serendipity3.com. Opening a new branch after 70 years of success on the Upper East Side was such a brilliant idea!
