Everyone loves Kiehl’s and a new generation is discovering them right now! There are hundreds of great items to choose from and they are all made from as many naturally derived ingredients as possible! Want to know why I picked these six products pictured below for back to school and/or care packages? Read on!
Just because it is time for kids to start hitting the books again does not mean that it is time to let skincare go! If anything, the stress of school work makes students break out even worse than relaxing in the summer sun does!
A really nice thing to do for your back to schooler would be to put together a package of Kiehl’s skin products. Kiehl’s was the first ever unisex skincare products company and I love the fact that they have kept their original store from the late 1800’s in the East Village in business. I consider this to be one of NYC’s “best kept secret” attractions and I love to visit to shop, load up on samples and check out the vintage motorcycles inside!
So what’s in my Kiehl’s “care package” for students? Well, since most of the under 21 crowd is acne prone, I would choose Kiehl’s Blue Herbal Acne Cleanser Treatment. I love the fresh scent and it is very foamy. This product has existed since 1964 which alone represents its effectiveness. It keeps facial shine at bay and really heals pimples.
Everyone needs a good shower gel that also is fun to use for a bubble bath so my second Kiehl’s product pick for the younger set is the Coriander Bath And Shower Liquid Body Cleanser. This is a relaxing and natural scent and you get tons of bubbles especially when used with a bath sponge. I have used this product myself and a couple of secrets about it is that it can also be used for “hand wash” and as a shampoo even though it is not advertised as such!
Everyone should mask at least twice per week no matter what type of skin they have. It’s just so great at removing dead skin and cleaning out pores. My top Kiehl’s mask choice for all types of skin is Avocado Nourishing Mask which is extra creamy and clean deeps. All you have to do is apply a thin layer to clean skin and wipe off with a warm cloth fifteen minutes later. It is great at smoothing out lines and bags under the eyes as well!
Sunscreen protection is a must as the first thing that ages facial skin and even creates dark spots is too much sun exposure—and let’s not even talk about what sunburn feels like! Kiehl’s Super Fluid Daily UV Defense Sunscreen is fragrance free, non-comedogenic and paraben free. It is lightweight but long-lasting and has an SPF of 50. It stands above and beyond other sunscreens because it really creates a barrier between your skin and pollution. Just consider Super Fluid Daily UV Defense Sunscreen as a suit of armor for your face!
Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream is actually a favorite with the older crowd but it really livens up skin on days that you feel that your complexion looks dull and gray. The reason that it creams such a glow and seems to actually perform magic is that contains Red Ginseng Root and Manuka Honey which are not only really healing but help create an immediate glow because of the way they stimulate blood flow. In the long run, this 99.6 per cent natural cream helps skin renew itself regularly!
My sixth choice for a back to school skincare stash would be Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Face Oil which really is remarkable at helping skin retain its elasticity. This is something very important for the future because skin with good elasticity gets less wrinkles. The “magic “ ingredients include Squalane, a botanical lipid similar in molecular structure to natural skin lipids, Evening Primrose Oil which is rich in Omega fatty acids and Essential Oils including Lavender (which helps gives this product its soothing fragrance).
I strongly suggest signing up for an account on kiehls.com and indicating that you want to receive texts on sales because there are so many great offers that pop up each week—like the recent 40 per cent off select items and 2 for 1 cleanser deal. They introduce new products all the time and you will want to be one of the first to know about them as well (all the big product news goes on kiehls.com first)!
