I felt fortunate to be able to visit the Temptu New York showroom yesterday. The occasion was the launch of their first ever mascara, Built To Lash and to get makeup using the famous Temptu airbrush system and headshots. I am still using a cartoon/avatar headshot on my linkedin.com page, so I am certainly due for a professional one to be uploaded, LOL! The showroom located at 26 West 17th Street, Suite 302, is actually open to the public and considered Temptu’s “flagship location.” You can walk in and get your makeup done and ask questions to super helpful staff. All their fantastic products are on sale in one place and they have great kits and value bundles you cannot purchase anywhere else (those alone make the showroom worth visiting). When I first got to the Temptu showroom, I got the 411 on the new mascara as the first order of business. (I loved the relaxing white walled and homey atmosphere of the place!) Apparently it treats your lashes with Pro Vitamin B5, argan oil, avocado oil, olive oil and aloe vera besides giving you terrific length and volume (it is very reasonably priced at $24). What I liked and what I noticed when I got my makeup done for my headshots at Temptu is that you get about 30 seconds to play with it a little before it dries. What I super-loved is that you can layer it and it never seems to get clumpy. The brush is on the thinner side so that you can really get to the base of the lashes, and then you can separate lashes by using it vertically. I urge you to try Built To Lash because it lasted so long and never smeared even when I went walking later in midtown Manhattan for a whole hour in 80 degree plus weather with a lot of humidity.
After getting my hair flat ironed and curled by a freelance pro stylist, I got my makeup done by Chico whom you might get lucky enough to have work on you when you visit Temptu. We discussed the attributes of the new mascara and she gave me tricks for trying it, but I was most thrilled to be matched for foundation and have Temptu’s patented and legendary airbrush used on me. There are foundation, eyeshadow and blush cartridges that are universal and fit into all their devices. Blusher is actually used for lip color and eye shadow is used with a brow form for perfect brows every time. The machine used by Chico on me was the Temptu Air. I was impressed by how easy it was so easily controllable and how it totally rocked for contouring. You can pull out your basic matching foundation cartridge and replace it with a darker shade or bronzer for magically erasing double chins or faking a high cheekboned look.It is very cool that Temptu has an extra room that often serves as a space for photo shoots. All the influencers including myself got our headshots sitting on a stool and with a basic white background and many of use brought scarves, jewelry and other accessories to make the photos look a little different from each other. Beauty lighting was used for even more perfect shots but everyone already had all their facial imperfections erased by Chico and the other makeup artists thanks to the fact that the Temptu Air can be layered and give you a more even skin tone then you would ever imagine! I hope to go back to the Temptu Studio when I have more time and check out all the blush and eyeshadow shades and maybe get Chico to do an evening look for me. I am so impressed by the seamless blending created by Temptu products–they definitely beat the old-fashioned methods of using brushes, applicators and sponges! For more info, go to www.temptu.com.
