Saks Holiday ’18 Preview: Glitz And Glamour In A “Theater Of Dreams” Setting!

When I attended the recent Saks Fifth Avenue holiday preview, my eyes lit up like (you guessed it) holiday lights and I started to drool. The event was held at the Daytonian style Hudson Theater, the oldest theater on Broadway, in a quiet upstairs room usually used for private receptions and meet and greets. The official theme of the event (as well as the hashtag) was Theater Of Dreams. Everything from lavish jewels to trays of fragrances to tuxedo jackets were gracefully arranged around the high-ceilinged room covered with theater memorabilia. It was a thrill to roam around and take in the goods up-close and personal. I want to share a few of my favorite things from the preview now.
Alexander Wang’s multitude of fragrances in solid color glass bottles that resembles Murano glass were simply elegant. I saw and I smelled–and my senses were dazzled. I would love to have this whole collection on my dresser. One of these would make a lovely stocking stuffer for hostess gift over the holidays but to me, I plan on collecting them one by one over the course of a whole year!
I love Bond No. 9 as well. Their bold packaging gets me excited but their scents totally rock because they last forever. Some of the newest ones were in the Saks holiday preview.
Since it was a holiday event, naturally there were both classic and edgy tuxedo jackets on display. This brown velvet one with traditional black lapels by Marc Jacobs is a real statement maker.
For the man who likes to stay warm in style, there were lots of great jackets by Moncler. No one does a puffer coat like they do and their jackets keep you warm for skiing or for just walking around the city streets in the winter.

Fashionistas are especially logo crazy right now so these oversized blinged up Gucci sunglasses got a lot of oohs and aahs from the members of the press taking in the holiday preview.
In front and center at the Saks holiday preview was a $1.2 million Celoni diamond necklace. It has a sister bracelet that is equally spectacular but with a more spider web like design. It’s time to start saving up for these items right now. Be sure to reserve them before Beyonce or Kim Kardashian grabs these blinged out goodies.
It’s no secret that the most lavish Christmas and New Year’s Eve party bags are by Judith Leiber. She is the ultimate legend of the evening bag and this one shaped like a tree ornament stole everyone’s hearts at the Saks holiday preview.
For those looking for a more reasonably priced gift that is unforgettable, I can’t think of anything better but the sweet little Little Words Project bracelets which are brand new to Saks stores. Each elastic bracelet features words of encouragement from “Be Happy” to “Inspire” to “Love” and back again spelled out in classic white and black cube beads. For more details on this unique company, go to www.littlewordsprojects.com;. They also make a fancier version of their “hero” bracelets with gold beads and adorable bag charms.
It goes without saying that there were numerous glamorous sequined dresses on display, perfect for fancy holiday parties. Designers included Badgley Mischka, Alice + Olivia and Alexander McQueen. Being at Saks Holiday Preview made me all excited for their annual presentation of their wonderful holiday windows. I simply cannot wait!
