Prefer to see all of Rome’s hot spots from an open air vehicle as opposed to by walking? The Tour Guy’s Golf Cart Tour Of Rome aka The Electric Tuk Tuk City Tour lets you pretty much see every site you need to plus you have the option of staying in the cart or wandering on your own during stops. You’ll see the Spanish Steps, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and several stunning churches including St. Peter’s Basilica but your knowledgeable and friendly tour driver will also take you to very special perches in all different neighborhoods that give you spectacular views perfect for selfies, many of which feature multiple legendary sites.
One of my favorite stops was by the Trevi Fountain area which features numerous Italian and French designer boutiques (where the prices are about 20 or 25 per cent better than in their US counterparts plus buyers save the VAT tax)! This might be a pricey tour at over $300 but you see everything that you need to and it might just be the most comprehensive tour of Rome ever assembled! Of course I savored the opportunity to visit the fountain in an up close and personal fashion as much as getting a little time to shop in my favorite high end stores and I even got some chestnuts from a street vendor nearby! It was great to be able to check ruins all over town, even ones that I had never heard of. I additionally spent time near the Colosseum checking out the local places that had excellent pizza, pasta and gelato…as well as the numerous souvenir shops. There were incredible opportunities to buy leather goods at 30 Euros and under—all made with great Italian craftsmanship!
Rome wasn’t built in a day but with this tour, you can pretty much see all of it in a day! The golf cart tour guides seem to know something about every nook and cranny that you drive past and are open to questions. At the end you will be brought back to where you started–at a ticket booth next to the Colosseum.
