I was so lucky to be able to attend the launch of Lenovo’s first ever hand held gaming device, the Lenovo Legion Go, at the gorgeous Nomo Hotel at 9 Crosby Street in Soho. It was great fun to go to different booths in the room and check out Lenovo gaming devices both new and old, eat delicious food and mingle with tech influencers.
Members of the Lenovo team were on hand to demonstrate the devices for press and answer any questions…but there was also great food, giveaways and “The Sphere” as pictured here. Guests climbed into it and used a Legion To Go while they spun around. I was too chicken to do this as both my gaming skills and sense of balance are poor, LOL. I am pretty sure that this is the same “sphere” that they use at the circus with the mini motorcycle riders inside! My friends who went inside the sphere said it was an amazing experience and that they wanted to do it again!
So what is the Legion Go—sure to be a hot gift item for 2023–all about? Well, the Legion Go and its sister products are a new generation of handheld devices that convincingly deliver on the dream of playing AAA titles on a portable Windows 11 gaming PC. It’s equipped with AMD’s newest Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor and AMD RDNA 3 graphics and delivers an exceptional power-to-size ratio. A large 8.8-inch QHD+ display immerses gamers in crystal-clear graphics and smooth refresh rates. Hall effect joysticks provide maximum durability and responsiveness. For longer gaming sessions, the Legion Go offers a kick stand and two USB 4.0 ports to expand docking capabilities. The most distinctive feature is the detachable controllers. When detached, it enables a one-of-a-kind FPS mode. Finally, the all-new Legion Space software launcher allows gamers to quickly access various gaming platforms, buy and launch games, adjust settings, and more.
Summary of Lenovo Go Features:
⎯ Gaming-focused AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor and RDNA 3 graphics ⎯ Crystal Clear 8.8” QHD+ IPS display with multi-touch and 144Hz refresh rate ⎯ Hall effect joysticks offer unmatched durability and precision
⎯ Detachable controllers with FPS Mode
⎯ Legion Space offers a user-friendly dashboard for all things gaming-related
I almost forgot to mention the Legion Go Glasses which to me are the perfect accompaniment for a lazy Sunday of gaming and snack in bed! Included in-box are items to make the Legion Glasses the most comfortable fit for your face as well as a handy protective carrying case. These include Nose pads, Prescription lens templates, and anti-slip adapters. There are three sizes of nose pad included with the Legion Glasses. The medium size comes installed on the product while the smaller and larger sizes come in the accessories box. While trying to adjust the nose pads, the image should be in the center of your vision, and you should be able to see it in its entirety. If the image is cut off or incomplete, try changing the nose pad or adjusting the wings of the nose pad. The larger the opening angle of the nose pads the lower the glasses will sit on the face. The nose pads can be rotated to a certain angle to accommodate the sides of the nose bridge.
