Just in time for the holidays comes the Sharper Image popup store at 4 Times Square which is really the northeast corner of 42nd and Seventh. I appreciate the fact that this is a huge airy double story tour with a lot of room for shopping and playing. They encourage shoppers to use the sample remote control toys which they are oh-so-famous for and that have great price points ($30 to $60). There are many of the great gadgets that Sharper Image is know for including makeup mirrors, rollup keyboards, digital drumsticks, digital cameras, drones, VR headsets and some of the best pillows you will ever rest your head on.
I went to the opening and not only got to see a remote car battle between New York’s Finest and New York’s Bravest, but got to catch up with remote control toy afficionado, actor Sean Astin. He got somewhere in the mix with the cops and the firemen, and after awhile, I did not know whose cars were going up against each other on the track!
The great thing about the pop up shop is that there are plenty of check out areas so you can grab your item and pop in and out in a matter of five minutes. It is incredibly centrally located in Manhattan and I have the feeling that a lot of holiday shoppers with be traipsing through. It is an experience–not just a store! The Sharper Images holiday 2017 motto is simply “Shop Sharper” and you will just adore the ease and fun of shopping at the 4 Times Square popup shop. You will wish that all in-person shopping experiences featured such helpful staff and ease of checkout!
