UPDATE ON THE SPICE ISLAND BEACH RESORT LATE MAY 2017!

I was lucky enough to attend Sir Royston Hopkin & Family’s great annual New York City press lunch last week. Again, it was at the elegant private downstairs area of The Lambs Club in midtown and again I somehow got the “seat of honor” next to Lady Betty Hopkin. I got a lot of the inside scoop from her not just from the presentation done by Sir Royston and daughter Janelle, who is the deputy managing director of SIBR. What’s new and fabulous includes a new yoga stage on the beach (a classy place like this is not going to let you get sand on your yoga clothing) as well as new soaking tubs and window treatments in all the rooms.

Lady Hopkin revealed to me that you can have private dinners brought out to you on the beach (something I never knew before) and told me that she was especially proud that the family would be receiving the Six Star Diamond Award from the American Academy Of Hospitality Services that night (for the fourth year in a row)! SIBR is the only Caribbean beach resort to have the Six Diamond Award distinction and is continually the receiver of other notable awards like US News + World Report’s Best All-Inclusive Resort In the Caribbean and Conde Nast’s “Best For Service” Award. Having stayed here, I can tell you that I have never encountered a hotel anywhere with this level of amenities or service. They will really do anything for their guests whether you want special snacks brought to your room or want to book a sightseeing tour (or more)!
