What’s my very TOP CHOICE for a Dad’s Day gift that is as useful as it gets and is priced under $300? Why no other than Motorola’s fantastic new Moto G5 Plus! I am not a techie type and I have to say that the 12 MP Rapid Focus Camera on this new phone is so fantastic that your photos all look like postcards even if you have to use low lighting. The Moto G5 Plus has a 5.2″ Full HD 1080 screen, a 2.0 GHz Processor and a 3000 mAh All-Day Battery–you also get hours of power in minutes of charging via the included TurboPower charger. Of course, it has a fingerprint reader that is something you can’t be without in this high tech day and age. All together they all spell out TOP QUALITY! I’m in love with the gorgeous Lunar Gray color and I think your dad would be as well. Go to http://www.motorola.com for more info!

For dads who appreciate Prosecco whether alone or mixed into a bellini, our top choice is Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso Brut! Mionetto has been making prosecco since 1887 and we find that its youthful and richly fruity/fresh taste is a real bargain at $15 for a 750 ml bottle. You can purchase it at wine and liquor stores everywhere. It’s a winner, especially when paired with white meats and light cheeses! For more info, go to http://www.mionettous.com and be sure to check out the rave review for this bubbly on http://www.winesearcher.com.
If you want to get dad a super stylish and durable watch for Dad’s Day, I can’t recommend anything better than Charriol. Everything in this high end watch and jewelry line based out of Geneva looks so supremely chic. Pictured here (on the left) is the Gran Celtica Super Sport S for the dad who prefers a chronograph style face ($3,949) and (on the right) the white gold colored watch from the Alexandre Collection for the dad who prefers a more traditional face ($1,886.50). For more info, go to http://www.charriol.com.
It’s no secret that I love high quality chocolate and Maison Du Chocolat is about as high quality as it gets. I am especially partial to its milk chocolate because of it’s creaminess but the dark chocolate bought in solid bars is a fave of mine for baking! For dad, I strongly recommend the crowd-pleasing Coffret Maison Dark And Milk ($60 for .51 pounds) which can be ordered at www.maisonduchocolat.us. It features fruits, nuts and other wonderful fillings embedded between thick layers of chocolate. If you dad is adventurous, new offerings include Fine Champagne Cognac Truffles ($50 for .42 pounds). Don’t forget that you can also get Dad a gift card to create his own box. He will especially love the great customer service at their 79th and Madison location!
For the high tech dad who deserves the latest and greatest bluetooth headphones, I have to say that the JBL EVEREST ELITE300 headphones live up to all the publicity and so worth the $187.50 price tag (that is actually the sale price on http://www.JBL.com, as they are regulary $249.95). What sets them apart from the rest of the latest headphone pack is not only the killer sound but the sculpted ear cushions which are oh-so-comfy. They connect to ANY wireless device, so Dad will be using them anytime, anyplace and anywhere for hours on end. I have nothing but great things to say about the phone and have agreed with every great review I have seen of them! If you read any of the reviews on JBL.com, you will notice that these headphones are not only highly praised for clear sound, comfort and their patented NexGen Noise Canceling technology, but many reviewers say that they are literally indestructible. (BTW, if you want to test this in person before purchasing, head over to a Best Buy!)
I love Omaha Steaks, not just for their fabulous meats but because their sides and desserts blow me away. For Father’s Day, there is a wonderful assortment of product sets for $80 and under. I have traditionally always ordered their legendary filet mignons, but I recently tried their 24 ounce T-Bone steaks which were enough for three meals for one person. The meat was juicy and I did not care what my guests thought when I picked up the bone to get to the last of that juicy meat. To view their numerous Father’s Day collections, simply go to www.omahasteaks.com. Pictured here is the Dad’s Day Dinner combo–two 24 ounce T-Bones, a 16 ounce package of Steak Fries, four 4-ounce Caramel Apple Tartlets and one 1-ounce jar of Steak Seasoning for only $69.99 (regular $157.00). You can throw in one pint of Remarkable Dadness ice cream (deep chocolate with pieces of malt balls) for only $9.99 as well!
Tommy John has been making headlines in the men’s underwear world with their extra high quality cotton T-shirts that make a “cool dad” even cooler, as well as snug and stretchy socks that really stay up above and beyond their competitors and boxer briefs that have been declared “the most comfortable briefs I have ever worn” in many men’s test panels and on blogs all over the net. Tommy John himself was a neighbor of mine at one time in Franklin Lakes, NJ, and while I never started up a convo with him about men’s underthings, he apparently really know what he’s doing. The beauty of this line is that all the items give dad a sleek look–all pieces are fitted but comfy. If you dad loves both comfort and clean lines, the Tommy John Boxer Brief Starter Kit is for him! (The briefs are actually called “Second Skin” style!) You get the exact items pictured to the left and the price is $71); the starter kit is available in fine department stores everywhere as well as at amazon.com.
