Taittinger Champagne is a classic that most people cannot picture the winter holidays without. I was lucky enough to attend a recent (early August) press event called The Art Of Celebrating The Holidays in a gorgeous townhouse in Gramercy Park that including being able to taste all their popular products including the runaway hit Prestige Rose with its lively flavor and flamboyant color. But nothing will stop me from imbibing the original Taittinger Brut in mass quantities, LOL! It’s almost as de rigueur for the holidays as Christmas trees these days!
The Modern American passed ‘bites” served were created by Chef Sarah Simmons of Birds & Bubbles and included Crispy Potato Latkes with Home Cured Trout, NY Cheddar Puff Pastry Wrapped Castelvetrano with Smoked Almond and Shrimp Rillette on House-Made Black Pepper Crackers.
All the guests left home with a bottle of classic brut and all got to graze at a wonderful combo oyster and champagne bar. The holiday table was set (for a later Taittinger employees-only dinner) and glamorous gals walked around with some of the holiday products for photo ops! I got to look at the beautiful new Nocturne product and taste it thanks to the lovely sommelier Jerusha Frost from the Chefs’ Club whom I mistook for a model–what an amazing art-deco style bottle!
My take-home bottle of Tattinger Brut lasted less than 24 hours–and I polished it off ally by myself, LOL!
