I recently went to the Naturopathica Spa in Chelsea at 127 West 26th Street to get one of their amazing Defy Messages and to peruse their many holistic skincare products and even check out their signature scents.
They have fabulous 30-min Holistic Facial appointments if you only have a little time in your day for a spa sessions but why not go all out and the the Defy or other holistic massage like I did if you really want to pamper yourself? My technician was named Kimberly and she discussed pressure level and products she was using thoroughly. What was my favorite part? Getting to breath in the pine scented products to help clear my mind and nostrils at the beginning and ending of my service. I felt like I was in the Alpines breathing in all the nature around me.
I was so thoroughly relaxed after my massage and was impressed how much attention Kimberly paid to how deep or soft I wanted the pressure. I always have sore shoulder blades and lower back from walking around all day in the city with large tote bags full of whatever I am picking up on my way around the city each day! Kimberly’s gentle but firm touch was just what I needed to let the stresses of living in The Big Apple get out of my system! Extra special care was used on my super tired feet as well!
The Naturopathica Spa in Chelsea has a homey feeling: there is a white old fashioned store front with the service booths in the back. There is a beautiful tea room in the back where guests can help themselves to both gourmet tea and water, a waiting room with soft ottomans and couches, bathrooms with amazing subway tiles and rookie showers and a changing room with built in charging stations in the lockers. All guests are given thick blue terry cloth robes and black slides to wear during their visit.
You can totally get lost in all the natural skincare and fragrances that you can test at the front of the store and massage technicians can make a list of the products used on you during your massage or facial so you can purchase them. The people working in front can also put together a custom skincare regimen for you and at this point in time, Naturopathica’s lavender based items are the top sellers for both their amazing scent and results.
