I recently went to the opening of the new LLadro boutique at 435 West 14th Street in the Meatpacking District and while I fell in love with the diversity of subject matter in all this brand’s world class porcelain items for sale, it’s the Parrot Party collection of candles in porcelain jars that really caught my attention. Each has its own unique scent and color. The birds look real and you expect them to start chattering away at any second. Most of the styles are pictured above (these are how they are really displayed in the Meatpacking store) and if you ever go into the Lladro boutique, you will star at them for a half hour like I did. It goes without saying that these are going to have a high collectibility factor in a couple of years as this is one of the legendary brands cutesy collections ever.
