You might want to save the dates of 7/27 and 8/24 since the Hawaiian-Asian rooftop restaurant El Ta’Koy at The Dominick Hotel in SoHo is offering their highly anticipated Summer Luaus on those nights! I do not have to tell you that luaus are hard to come by in The Big Apple and El Ta’Koy does theirs right! For only $65 per person, customers get a classic pig roast (with plant based options for vegans and vegetarians), shaved ice, specialty cocktails and more. I will be at the one on 8/24 because I have not gone to a luau in 20 or 30 years and my last pig roast was in Orlando about 18 years ago. A NYC summer night at a restaurant on a 7th floor terrace (aka Terrace On 7) undoubtedly makes a luau even more special!
Included in the luau besides the aforementioned pig roast and shaved ice will be Chicken, Tuna & Veggie Tacos, Salmon Tostadas, Lumpias and Taquitos. There will be unlimited Froze, Skyline Beer and Signature Cocktails–but you cannot beat the fact that there will be BABOR Signature Spa Poolside Mini-Treatments. There is nothing like mixing outdoor beauty treatments with fabulous food on a terrace and not many of us find events that have both, even in “the city that has everything”!
You can find out more and even book your tickets here: Summer Luaus At El Ta’Koy. I am gearing up to enjoy my roasted pig and veggie Hawaiian style tacos in an Hawaiian print mumu that I have had in the back of my closet for years and can’t wait to finally wear! Hawaiian clothing is not mandatory of course but I want to experience this pig roast “whole hog”! El Ta’Koys drinks are legendary and I cannot wait to knock back two, three or more! I can just taste that Froze now!
