Philosophy’s “Spring Clean” Launch Event: Who Knew That “Cleaning” Could Be So Fun?

I was lucky enough to attend the launch of several great new products by Philosophy on the 67th floor of the Empire State Building last week. Leave it to Philosophy to come up with the clever idea of a “spring cleaning” concept behind the party. There were vignettes to display each product along with their predecessors in the line–and there were artistically painted solid color cleaning products in the background as props. It was simple, elegant and yes, very clean looking. The views were nice to take in as well. I was so shocked to discover that my ears did not pop in the elevator for once, LOL! It was so great to be able to take several of these products home in a monogrammed cream colored canvas tote, too. Anyway, thought I would share with you some of my favorite items from the aptly named “Philosophy Spring Clean” event!

I fell in love with a large display of Hands Of Hope Nuturing Hand And Nail Cream. There are eight new scents including Hawaiian hibiscus, sparkling grapefruit, coconut & guava, green tea & avocado, lemon custard and fresh cream. Which is the winner in my book? It is a tough call because they all smell like the real thing–but the Lemon Custard won my heart. I am a sucker for citrus scents!

The Amazing Grace Restyling Spray was something I saw and immediately had to test. Not only does it make your hair smell fresh instantaneously but it creates huge volume in about ten seconds! I think that this would be great teamed up with the Amazing Grace candle as a Mother’s Day gift!

Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere is a fragrance that smells like freshly baked vanilla wafers being devoured in a forest during spring. It has it all–a strong vanilla bean scent mixed with coconut water, orchid, cashmere wood and creamy sandalwood. It is truly unique and ahead of its time. Look for this scent to make a huge splash in the highly competitive fragrance marketplace and appeal to all demographic markets! It is not out until the summer, so sit tight!

Speaking of summer, Philosophy is also launching Pure Grace Endless Summer and I was lucky enough to meet perfumer Caitlin McCarthy who created it at the event. It is reminiscent of childhood days at the beach as it blends subtle notes of wild berries with lychee, pomelo, jasmine and amber. You can see Caitlin holding a bottle above and she graciously answered questions about the development of her limited edition product for press at two different launch sessions.

Fresh Cream Dry Shampoo has actually hit the store shelves already (it came out in February) and it is a huge sensation. It brushes out cleaner than other dry shampoos and adds volume and texture to your style. It also has a lovely light floral scent.

I was thrilled to have the creators of the new Renewed Hope In A Jar Complete Concealer do a perfect match for my skin tone. Made with aloe vera, green tea, cha moo and botanical extracts, it a sweat proof formula that is actually good for your skin. I am testing it right now as I am writing this blog post on a treadmill! Guests the Spring Clean event also got matched with a Renewed Hope In A Jar Skin Tint.

I fell in love with Purity Made Simple Shield & Protect because it took care of my shiny nose and actually gave medium coverage even though it is off white in color. It creates a barrier between your skin and all the pollution in the atmosphere and it does not clog pores. Look for the highly anticipated Anti-Wrinkle Miracle Worker Moisturizer to come out in January ’19!
